I wonder...could this just be creeping up from my ultrasound last Thursday? Apparently they are going to disturb Hematomawhore with the dildo cam every week and cause me to bleed. I'm pretty sure that the vajayjay suppositories every night aren't helping matters either. I cannot wait until I can start having abdominal ultrasounds.
I should finish up my PIO injections, prometrium suppositories, and estrogen this week. My next ultrasound is this Thursday! If all goes well, I get released to the land of normal women. My clinic stops all medicine at 9 weeks. I asked them if they were going to check my levels to make sure that my body was producing enough on its own, but they said no. No?? Is this normal practice? It seems that most of my blog friends are on this stuff through 11-12 weeks. I'm going to ask my regular OB if he would recommend I continue it for a little longer.
The PIO injections are literally a pain in the butt, but if they keep Boom Boom and Pow alive I will do whatever I have to do. My butt cheeks are so swollen and painful to the point of where I can't sit, walk, or lay down at night! It really is like injecting molasses in your butt cheeks every day, and Andy has been giving them to me since the first of July. Ouchy!
Spongebob keeps me company though. I trusted Andy to grab some band aids at the store, and this is what I'm stuck with every morning.

Hmm about the progesterone... I'd push to stay on it a little longer. I was supposed to stop my PIO at 10wks, but because of the SCH my RE wanted me to stay on them until 12wks instead (and ended up staying on them until 13wks actually). My progesterone was only 6.6 so it was dangerously low, so given that and the bleeding issues we felt that staying on them longer was better. People so stop them that early, but personally I'd push for them to let you stay on a bit longer.
The dark stuff is *totally* normal. I had weeks of it while my clot dissolved, sometimes even passing small clots as it worked it's way out (dildo cam or not, the blood/clot is going to either reabsorb or bleed out... it's scary, annoying, and it sucks!)
My muscles still hurt from my PIOs... ow! Hope things continue to go well (aside from the SCH) for all of you :)
I stopped all my hormone meds at 11-12 weeks. But do what you feel comfortable doing. As for the PIO shots to making them a little more easier on the behind...I first warmed the PIO bottle sandwiched between the heating pad. Then once A shot me up, he rubbed my tooshy hard to get the PIO into the muscle tissue easier and to prevent painful lumps according to my nurse. Then I'd sit on a heating pad where the injection site was for like 10 mins. I found this made the pain and stiffness much more tolerable. Good luck with the SCH...sounds likes she's on her way out given the brown blood.
Oh man, I so feel your pain with the PIO shots... And I totally agree with Lisa. I did pretty much the same thing, probably even excessively. Even though the production of it all got very, VERY old, I knew the pain wouldn't be as bad as it could be.
10 min w/ the Heating Pad (on whichever side)
Shot - injected VERY slowly
5 min Massage
5 min of walking
10 min w/ heating pad
I'm sorry to say after all that, it still hurt to pull my jeans up over my rump, but it sounds like it was much more manageable than the pain you're in.
As for the amount of time you're on the progesterone, I kind of agree with you there. I was doing weekly tests to check it. I stopped the PIO shots at 10 weeks, then had to get back on them because my levels plummeted. I ended up doing PIO to 12 weeks, then suppositories until 14 weeks. Worth the peace of mind if you ask me. I would also say if your RE won't budge talk to your OB and have them do weekly tests, or at the very least keep you on some type of Prog.

My last P4 check was at 11w1d - that's when my levels were finally high enough to wean off the progesterone supps. I'm surprised your doc is ending it without a level check... I'd push for at least a level check before you go off - for the peace of mind if nothing else. It's such an easy problem to fix (low P4 levels).
